This is a simple tutorial designed to run GOG users through downloading mods from the Steam Workshop for their version of the game. Before we begin, you will need to acquire a Valve tool called SteamCMD. You can download that here. Once you have downloaded and extracted the zip file, you will be presented with the file SteamCMD.exe.
How to install steamcmd on Mac?1. Open Terminal.app and create a directory for SteamCMD. 2. Download and extract SteamCMD for macOS. On first run, SteamCMD will automatically update and enter you into a Steam> prompt. Type help for more information. Open a Command Prompt and start SteamCMD. Open a terminal and start SteamCMD.
Do I need steamcmd?well if you want to download anything off steam you'll need steamCMD for starters, I assume you already have that. you could extend the batch script to move the folders automatically after being downloaded Does this really have to be the case? I run a dedicated server that a bunch of mates play on, not open to the public (Yet!)
How do I download games from steamcmd?Open a terminal and start SteamCMD. To download most game servers, you can login anonymously. Some servers require you to login with a Steam Account. Note: For security reasons, it is recommended that you create a new Steam account just for your dedicated servers.
