WebIn this sense, talweg is the line joining all low points of a valley. If there is no river in the valley, it is properly a line; if there is a river, the talweg has a definite breadth. However, on a smallscale map, it can without any difficulty be confused with a line. The level of the talweg is then taken as the height of the surface of the water.
