Share a single file Open Google Sheets and click on the File menu. Select Share. Type the email of the person you wish to share the file with. Select their editing role: Viewer to view only, Commenter to add comments, or Editor to be able to edit the file. If the email address is not associated with a Google Account, you will get a message. On a computer, go to Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides. Click the file you want to share. Click Share .
