WEBSep 27, 2018 · G. lamblia (syn. intestinalis, duodenalis) is a zoonotic enteroparasite. It proliferates in an extracellular and noninvasive fashion in the small intestine of vertebrate hosts, causing the diarrheal disease known as giardiasis. Virtually all mammals can be infected with G. lamblia, and epidemiological data point to giardiasis as a zoonosis [ 1 ].
