Headache after LP is a very common occurrence (up to 32%) in the ED and can have detrimental consequences including subdural hematoma and seizures. Thunderclap headache is a headache that reaches 7 (out of 10) or more in intensity within less than one minute. It is often unexpected and not preceded by any warning signs or symptoms.
