What are the features of the Edwards Aquifer?The water in the Edwards-Trinity (Plateau) Aquifer is generally a hard, calcium bicarbonate type and typically has total dissolved solids concentrations ranging from 400 to 1,000 milligrams per liter. Water quality in the unconfined portion of the aquifer is generally fresh, with only small, localized areas of slightly saline groundwater.

This area covers all or parts of eight counties including Uvalde, Medina, Atascosa, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, and Caldwell Counties.
